Paragway - The Team Build not the Country

Postby devosion on Sat Jan 30, 2010 6:28 pm

Paragway is an idea for an all paragon team build that I recently considered. The idea behind paragway is to have a a nigh indestructible end-game team build that uses imbagon skills to support the entire team. The majority of the team would center around critical imbagon skills like Save Yourselves, and There's Nothing to Fear. Support skills like Infuriating Heat and Focused Anger would provide team and single player adrenaline gain to keep up the critical Save Yourselves. Other important aspects of the team build would center upon hex removal and condition removal as well, most likely centric to single characters. By maintaining the critical skills that make the imbagon a defensive powerhouse throughout the entire team it reduces the risk of powerful spikes and dps. The team still needs to be aware of life removal skills and other similar skills that get around AL, but for the most part it could probably work. Although that remains to be seen because in other for the team build to work i'd like the assistance of other end-game paragons. A total of 8 minimum, and as many other's who wish to assist. This post isn't simply for them though. I'd like to hear everyone's ideas how a team build like this can get off the ground. As a result i'd like to be able to apply the team build to Hard Mode end-game areas like FoW, UW, DoA, etc. While the team build most likely won't approach the speed of some of the more well-honed speed clear builds i'm sure there is a niche it could fill, if it works.

So with that being said here is a link to the PvX page for imbagon:http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Imbagon.

As I mentioned before Imbagon is a build that is highly reliable due to it's defensive measures, Save Yourselves and There is Nothing to Fear. For this build to work it would be necessary to have a high, or maxed, title for the applicable skills. The rest of the imbagon build centers upon adrenaline gain that fuels SY, and in turn SY fuels TiNtF by giving back energy per usage. Out of the rest of the skills only TiNtF provides energy management, but the frequent usage of SY provides high amounts of energy to use any of the rest of the skills. It's my opinion that the rest of the skills in the build can be removed and allocated into one skill that one or two paragons would use in the team build, Infuriating Heat. This would clear up a large amount of the skill bar for the rest of the imbagons in the team build, and open up a wide variety of support spirit options like Frozen Soil, and Edge of Extinction. Members of the team build would also center upon the excellent dispersal of conditions, spike damage, and dps that Paragons have available. Skills such as Barbed Spear, Stunning Strike, and Cruel Spear work well together and provide spike damage as well as bleeding, and dazed conditions. The team build also provides healing options and condition removal in the motivation line, and TiNtF. Powerful spikes can be easily achieved through the usage of Go For the Eyes, and Ebon Battle Standard of Honor. And a little usage of cheap hex removal in the mesmer line can deal with issues such as Vocal Minority, Empathy, and Visions of Regret, but the group would have to be highly cautious of Well of Silence.

I have only scratched the surface of what I believe a nigh indestructible team build could offer, and I will update this post with my own in-depth ideas per character in the thread, but as I said before I need your help. I can't put together the build by myself, and your criticisms and opinions will go a long way towards making this happen.

Anyone is welcome to add to the thread, but I need at least 7 other people with end-game paragons to come forward and actively assist in-game to make this happen. The paragons that come forward should have at least obtained the spearmarshal title in the sunspear title line, and Ally of the * in the factions title line. For those that haven't made it so far in the factions title line i'll participate in AB or the factions mission with them, because I would like to increase my title in that area as well as im only Ally. I'm excited to see where this can go so please let me know if you're interested. Or if you think this is a dumb idea let me know too. ;)

sound interseting, although a necro or soemthing may make this team much better, with MoP, dark fury, and OoP. also seems like order of apostacy would make this build roll, but i am biased anyways. just a few thoughts at least.
"I want to be different. Everyone does. Everyone is. But there are two kinds of different: There are those people who love attention. They need it. And they are noticed because they try to be. But there are those that do things differently, quietly, and are noticed not because they try to be, but because they are special. It is this kind of person that I can tolerate; this kind of person that I admire; this kind of person that I aim to be."

For those wondering what happened to this, I haven't forgotten about it. I just havent had the time to devote to it as much as i'd like, and as i'll be starting school on the 17th of March im not sure when i'll actively take up experimenting. On hold until further notice, unless someone else wants to take initiative.
